Current Projects

APP is currently concentrating its efforts on setting up our base in Kampala, and working to improve prison life in Uganda. The list below shows the current and planned projects for Uganda 2008-2009. Kampala Remand Prison

  • Complete refurbishment of sickbay and commence construction of new outpatient department and pharmacy department.

Luzira Maximum Security Prison

  • University library.
  • Luzira Law library and legal centre.

Murchison Bay

  • Refurbishment of outpatients’ clinic, provision of water and power to hospital and construction of operating theatre.

Luzira Prison Community Clinic

  • Resource centre for medical staff and relocate bats.

Jinja Main Prison

  • Prison clinic, laboratory, library and school, community clinic.

Jinja Remand Prison

  • Library and sickbay.

Kigo Men’s Prison

  • Sickbay and library.

Jinja, Kigo and Kasangati Prisons

  • Counselling project with Makere University psychologists.
